DISA adopted a new concept in computing and aligned to the Ecosystem in Jan 2017. This new model operates as one virtual datacenter. The 2,500 civilians, contractors and military positions will continue to operate under the DWCF model that is over $1B annually. All processes and procedures are being updated to support this model under the Ecosystem where there are eight Lines of Business (LOB). This will align like functions across a single computing enterprise and establish a unified computing structure operating under a single command. We will prioritize excellence in service delivery, process efficiency, and standardization (tools and processes). One of the primary focuses is to optimize support to customers and stakeholders. Toward that end, the Ecosystem will adopt a standardized support model, patch/OS/HW upgrades w/ limited mission partner involvement, standardized implementations and standard offerings. Through the above stated process improvements and efficiencies, the plan is to reduce implementation timelines by 40% while decreasing total cost to the department by 15%.
