Robert A. Reed is the current Chief, Communications Line of Business for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Computing Ecosystem. Prior to assuming that position in January of 2017, Mr. Reed was the Director for the Defense Enterprise Computing Center – Columbus (DECC–C). DISA is a DOD combat support agency providing information technology services to military services, defense agencies and combatant commands. A prior-service Marine Corps officer, Mr. Reed joined civil service in November of 1989. He leads four operating divisions, and a total DISA staff of more than 200 civil service and contract technicians, who support classified and unclassified computing and networking systems spanning the globe. The Communications Line of Business portfolio is currently valued at more than $89 million. Mr. Reed is the senior DISA leader in Columbus, Ohio. In August of 2006, DECC-C assigned the Coalition NetOps Center (CNC) mission, providing round-the-clock technical support to allied interoperability and information exchange for the department’s Afghanistan, Iraq, and other global operations. The CNC supports all Combatant Commands, providing information exchange with U.S. allies and government partners who share our battle space. Major programs supported by DECC-C include the Defense Collaboration Service (DCS), Net-Centric Enterprise Services (NCES), Net-Enabled Command and Control (NECC), Multi-national Information Exchange (MNIS), Releasable DMZ (REL DMZ), Computer Network Defense (CND), Web Demilitarized Zone (Web DMZ), and Electronic Business (EB). Mr. Reed’s career includes more than 25 years of experi¬ence as a military and civilian leader, including assignment to HMX-1, the Marine squadron providing executive flight support to the office of the President of the United States. Mr. Reed graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
