Chief of Staff of the Air Force General Mark A. Welsh III signed a memorandum on March 20, 2015 establishing Task Force Cyber Secure, to address synchronization, operations and governance of cybersecurity challenges for Air Force Core Missions:  (1) air and space superiority; (2) intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR); (3) rapid global mobility; (4) global strike; and (5) command and control.

The intent of Task Force Cyber Secure is to synchronize multiple efforts across the Air Force to increase the robustness and resilience of critical Air Force systems in and through cyberspace and to improve the cybersecurity posture for mission systems, weapon systems, and industrial control systems.  One of the major efforts under the Task Force umbrella is the AF Cyber Campaign Plan led by SAF/AQ, AFMC and AFLCMC.  The Cyber Campaign Plan provides the framework for cyber assurance for weapons and mission systems, providing cyber resiliency and cyber risk mitigation to our most critical weapons systems.

A team of cross-functional stakeholders across the Air Force has been working a roadmap of solutions for cybersecurity efforts, policy changes and recommendations for an enduring cybersecurity framework to be finalized and ready for integration into the Air Force Strategic Planning Process this year.

The Panel session will address and provide an update of “Task Force Cyber Secure” challenges with synchronizing  multiple efforts and studies addressing cybersecurity and mission assurance to provide a prioritized Air Force roadmap of cybersecurity efforts and identify potential investments, Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P)changes and an enduring enterprise-wide cybersecurity governance framework.
