This panel discussion will focus on emerging issues and trends within public safety, specifically related to cyber security, critical infrastructure and interoperability. The secretary of public safety and homeland security has established the homeland security and resilience staff group to focus on stakeholder engagement throughout federal, state, local government, and our private sector partners. Key homeland security officials will be present to discuss emerging threats, programs, and solutions to contemporary public safety issues including: cyber security threats to public safety networks, identifying critical infrastructure, and taking action to protect physical and virtual assets.
