Technical Panel: Managing Resources Across Heterogeneous Networks (Room 316)

As the future MILSATCOM architecture develops it will comprise both commercial and purpose built payloads that may be distributed across multiple orbits and frequency bands for resiliency. The ability to manage a network of tactical terminals over a heterogeneous set of satellites is a critical element of future MILSATCOM operations and commercial SATCOM operators are facing similar challenges following recent mergers and acquisitions that position them to offer services over multiple orbits. 
The Government is planning many Pilot programs to explore state of the art commercial capability and how these technologies can be rapidly deployed in MILSATCOM. The “Managing Resources Across Heterogeneous Networks” panel will raise awareness about commercial solutions for managing a single network of terminals across multiple satellite networks. The panelists will address key issues including network awareness detection, prioritized resource allocation across the network, and information assurance management.
