Chris Boyd, Network Solutions Architect in the Applied Research division, serves as Lead Architect for iDirect’s next-gen Advanced Mobility Solutions. This work, leveraging 4G/5G network protocols and 3GPP mobility standards, aims to bring significant expansion of iDirect’s mobility capabilities for High-Throughout Satellite Solutions Providers using iDirect's Velocity HTS Platform. Mr. Boyd has focused on the design of high-availability, high-reliability Satcom solutions that support global end-to-end IP networking and enable delivery of advanced Telecom services over VSAT infrastructure. He is a recognized subject matter expert in the application and implementation of IP-centric advanced technologies and integrated communications such as voice, video, data, and LMR in mission critical networks. As a former Network Consulting Engineer for Cisco Systems, Mr. Boyd has a broad understanding of industry networking and has extensive experience delivering Satcom solutions to meet the rigorous demands for enterprise Telecom, Homeland Defense, and First Responders and has been a consultant for the rapid deployment of tactical Satcom terminals, teleport operations and services used for disaster communications. Mr. Boyd studied Civil Engineering and Computer Science at Widener University.
