Plenary Panel Session: "Trusted Information for Mission Assurance" (Room Keynote Area, Exhibit Hall)

Topic:  As the cyber and ISR mission areas have matured in recent years, the Services have focused more attention on the end-to-end flow of information as key to mission success.  It doesn’t matter whether the mission is logistics support of a strike platform, command and control of a joint force component, or managing Service personnel resources – trusted information is critical.

Organizational Roles in Trusted Information:  I have found it easier to discuss topics like this when using a recognized mission thread.  For example the targeting process/mission thread, find, fix, track, target, engage, assess (F2T2EA) would serve as a perfect backdrop for the Service components and functional expertise each panel member represents.

Potential Questions:  Any other recommended questions are very welcome.

What are the biggest obstacles to mission success your organization is facing, and what are you doing about it?  Examples could be timing, consistent presentation of data, interference, sharing.

If you can comment, what are some recent lessons learned as we fight ISIS?

What are the most significant process/technical innovations underway in your organization?

What improvement would make the biggest difference to your mission success?

In what areas would you welcome industry help/ideas to reduce mission risk, e.g., loss of SATCOM, loss of precision navigation and timing, unauthorized data manipulation, etc.?

What cyber-attacks in the public sector give you the most concern for your missions?

What improvements would you like to see as you work with coalition partners and allies?

What are you doing to keep your workforce technically current – is workforce retention an issue?
