Lt Gen Peterson is a member of the AECOM Management Services Team, focused on delivering Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Electromagnetic services to the federal government. Earlier, he served as Chief of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer for the U.S. Air Force, shaping doctrine, policy, strategy, and innovation for information technologies, intelligence and mission readiness activities and programs Service-wide. Responsibilities included membership on the AF corporate board, directing activities of four field operating agencies, and oversight of a $17B portfolio. At AECOM Lt Gen Peterson was a key member of the team developing corporate strategy and capabilities to address the growing commercial and federal requirements for Cyber Defense and Information Assurance. This responsibility was a natural follow-on to is role in the Pentagon where he led the AF evolution from “Network Services Delivery” to “full spectrum Cyber Operations.” Lt Gen Peterson directed the development of the AF Cyber Concept of Operations, and put personnel, tools and processes in place to create the AF Cyber Operations Component Command, 24th Air Force. Earlier assignments included duty as the principal AF representative to US Strategic Command and Commander of the Joint Functional Component Command for Space and Global Strike, Wing Commander of a Technical Training Wing, CIO for two major commands, and ten years’ experience with space systems and commanding operational space units.
