This session will discuss common air monitoring equipment currently used during fire ground operations today. The session will focus on the composition of atmospheres found at fire scenes, the toxic effects of over-exposure to these materials, the proper use of multi-gas detection units, and interpretation of the results. The session will provide hands-on activities using multi-gas detectors to demonstrate the proper use of the equipment. This course can be used towards hazmat related certification hours.
