The focus on climate change has improved the policy landscape for hydropower. Policy makers are evaluating hydropower for its potential climate benefits, and hydropower resources may see increasing opportunities in a carbon-constrained world. At the same time, hydropower may face challenges associated with water availability and questions about reservoir management. This panel will address emerging opportunities and risks for hydropower as climate policies are further defined and implemented.
