Robotics: STEAM Rolling The Path to Student Success! (Room Booth 2405)

The use of robotics to teach students has grown at a phenomenal pace in the last few years. The explanation is simple: students learn while they are having fun! Students are able to learn critical thinking, team-building, and presentation skills through the design, building, testing, and programming of robots. Students collaboratively share their skills in applying real-world math and science concepts. This session will help you get started with an understanding of resources supporting the introduction of a robotics curriculum and/or an after-school program and its use as a hands-on accompaniment to STEAM content. Participants will be able to understand the rationale for a robotics program, the growth of educational applications, and how a robotics program can facilitate achievement of state and national standards. Participants will come away with an understanding of the benefits of having a robotics curriculum and the know-how to launch a robotics initiative!
