Loanis Menendez-Cuesta, MLIS: Head of Reference Services, former Young Adult Librarian at the Delray Beach Public Library since 2009. She is also the Senior Technology Trainer, Curriculum Developer for Seniors at Delray Beach Public Library and also the Lead Coach for the FIRST Lego League Robotics Club at the Delray Beach Public Library since 2015. During her tenure as a Young Adult Librarian, Ms. Menendez-Cuesta founded a Teen Advisory Board. With the Teen Advisory Board, she implemented many opportunities for local teens to serve as volunteers in leadership positions. Her prior experience includes 15 years as a Middle and Elementary School Librarian and Media Specialist. Ms. Menendez-Cuesta earned her B.S. in Information Studies and MLIS from Florida State University. She is the first woman in her family to earn a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree.
