Coding Has No Boundaries: PreK-6 (Room North 220C)

This is a success story about a team of motivated teachers working at an underprivileged Canadian elementary school. Less than a year ago, coding didn't mean a thing to this community. Everything led them to believe that it would be impossible to code in their school. The team overcame a number of obstacles: lack of references in the Canadian education system and the fact that the available equipment was mostly in English (not their first language). Now, every student in the school, from preschool to 6 grade, is coding. This session will describe how coding was introduced into an elementary school on a two-year timeline.
