Christine Jost
Principal
École Paul-Jarry (Canada)
Mrs. Christine Jost is a graduate of the University of Quebec in Montreal. In 1987, she received her degree in Elementary Education. In 1996, Mrs. Jost assumed the role of elementary school principal in one of the most underprivileged schools in Montreal. For the last five years, Mrs. Jost has been professionally examining and questioning the teaching methodology currently used in the school system in relation to the technological advances of the 21st century and how schools need to evolve with these changes. Two years ago the word “coding” was unknown to Mrs. Jost. However, upon further investigation it peaked her curiosity .This motivated her to learn about “coding” and the educational impact on learning to code by children. Today, the team she leads has become a role model for other schools in this province where coding is still largely unknown and just starting to emerge in the educational domain.
