The presenters will summarize the need for recruiting entry level firefighter candidates from diverse backgrounds. They will review state and national statistics pertaining to firefighter recruitment; review identified and emerging best practices; and provide several case studies to reiterate their points. Data from the fall 2015 Henrico County (VA) Division of Fire recruitment process will be presented and discussed.
