Andrew Snead
Personnel Coordinator
Andrew is the Henrico County (VA) Division of Fire personnel coordinator and is responsible for developing a structured recruitment and retention program including marketing, advertising, and community outreach efforts. He most recently served a six month stint as the interim fire chief for the Alexandria (VA) Fire Department, and prior to that he served as the assistant Fire-EMS chief of operations. Previously, Andrew spent 26 years with Fairfax County (VA) Fire and Rescue, retiring as a deputy fire chief in 2008. Andrew received a bachelor’s of science degree in urban planning and studies from Virginia Commonwealth University, and attended the Northern Virginia Community College and George Washington University to earn his Advanced Life Support certification and national registry of emergency medical technician-paramedic certification. He is a 2007 graduate of the executive fire officer program at the National Fire Academy.
