Anderson Center for Autism (ACA) is an educational and residential program for students ages 5-21 with a primary diagnosis on the autism spectrum.  ACA provides educational, residential, clinical and support services to individuals on the autism spectrum while optimizing their quality of life.  Mirroring New York state education standards we optimize educational experiences with our Unique Learning Experience curriculum.  Goals and objectives are identified for each student that target life skills domains including communication, social interaction, organization and independence.  Proactive support strategies reinforce learning and increasingly challenge students as they develop new skills.

Certified special educators, behavior specialist/analysts, speech and occupational therapists provide collaborative, interdisciplinary classroom instruction and expertly blend educational, environmental and sensory supports into a seamless therapeutic milieu.  Classroom technology such as IPads and interactive whiteboards provide a richer learning environment to better shape the learning process.

The Anderson Village provides a secure community-driven environment in which students are paired by age, ability and supportive needs.  This ensures a comfortable living experience that encourages further development of life and social skills outside of the classroom.

Afterschool activities provide opportunities for enrichment in a variety of recreational and interest specific areas optimizing the quality of life of each student.  Students participate in campus and community recreation experiences.

Anderson Athletics empowers our students to accomplish great things and show their innate talent, focus, dedication to sports they love.  Students are also very active in the Special Olympics program.

Anderson Center for Autism’s (ACA) core philosophy is that all people deserve to live a life of quality.  ACA has evolved into an organization that has the expertise, resources and technology to enable the agency to contribute much toward optimization of the quality of life of those it serves.  ACA’s mission is to optimize the quality of life for individuals with autism.
