Mr. Esparza’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation involving the energy and marine industries, including offshore losses and disputes arising from indemnity allocation and insurance-related issues. He assists major and independent E&P companies and contractors with drafting and negotiating contracts by recognizing and allocating risks inherent to energy development. He also represents entities involved in regulatory investigations arising from offshore energy operations, including panel and whistleblower investigations. He has assisted clients with commenting on proposed BSEE and USCG rules and frequently advises clients of regulatory changes impacting operations in the Gulf of Mexico. In 2014 and 2015, he was named a "Texas Rising Star" by Super Lawyers magazine for Energy and Natural Resources, Insurance Coverage and Transportation/Maritime practices. Compiled through peer nomination and research, only the top 2.5 percent of Texas attorneys under age 40 receive this distinction.
