For the last 20 years Jon Scharingson has held roles within business development, sales and marketing and business strategy in agribusiness and the renewable fuels industry. Currently, Mr. Scharingson serves as Director of Sales & Marketing at Renewable Energy Group®. As Director of Sales & Marketing at REG, Mr. Scharingson works closely to develop solutions for large petroleum companies to meet their annual requirements for consuming renewable fuels, and more specifically biodiesel. He is intimately familiar with federal and state legislations that drives the development of the biodiesel industry. REG is the nation’s largest producer and marketer of biodiesel, with approximately 20 percent of the US market. Mr. Scharingson joined REG in 2007. Prior to joining REG, he spent 17 years in the seeds, crop protection and agriculture biotechnology industry working for Imperial Chemical Industries, AstraZeneca and Syngenta. Mr. Scharingson has a BBA in Management and an MBA in Marketing from Iowa State University.
