Deepthi K. Weerasinghe received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, from the University of Bath in Bath, U.K. and a B.Sc. (with honors) in applied chemistry, from Kingston University, in Surrey, U.K. He is currently retired after an over 25 year career in the US food industry where he worked @ Nestlé PTC Solon, Coca-Cola (Atlanta) and PepsiCo (NY) and at leading flavor companies such as IFF, Firmenich, Universal / Sensient. He has experience in various areas of the food industry, including process flavors, synthesis, analytical chemistry, taste mitigation, fermentation, extraction, reactor design, mutagenesis and hyper producing strain development.
