Peter Camps, born and raised in Diest, Belgium where he grew up in the family furniture business. In 1987, he made a leap of faith when he decided to build a career in the beer business and started his apprenticeship at the De Kluis brewery in Hoegaarden. After an extensive training and mentoring program for 3 years with the original five Brewmasters from the De Kluis brewery with a combined 170 years of knowledge and experience, Peter, alongside with the legendary Pierre Celis, opened the Celis Brewery in Austin, TX in 1992. Peter became a Brewmaster himself in 1994. He went to work for HEINEKEN USA in 2002 and is the Manager of Quality & Draught Systems for the U.S. market. His passion for Quality has led him to focus on improving quality standards and innovation for the on-trade channel. Peter is also a certified Draught Master for HEINEKEN USA and Cicerone® Certified Beer Server.
