Cynthia P. Vines, Ed. S., M. Ed., NCSP, manages Section 504 and hospital/homebound programs for 275 public and charter schools for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte, NC. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NASP) and holds licensure in special education, reading, language arts, and math. She initiated a program for students with learning needs at two private schools and had her own private practice in Orlando, FL. Ms. Vines is an experienced presenter and trainer on topics such as Section 504, Functional Behavior Support, Behavior Management Techniques, Threat Assessment, and Crisis Intervention. Currently, she is serving on a state homebound taskforce and partnering with local hospitals and health care providers to provide instructional support to students with chronic illness. Her vast experience brings a unique perspective to school staff in learning about Section 504 compliance. Ms. Vines’ goal is to equip district and school-based staff with the tools needed to best serve and support all students.
