Linda J. Silver, M.S., Ed. S. as former District Section 504/ADA Specialist for Broward County Schools, FL provided Section 504 trainings, oversight and monitoring to over 340 public and charter schools to ensure Section 504 compliance. Linda’s article, “Learn to transition 504 plans from elementary to middle school” appeared in the monthly LRP publication Section 504 Compliance Advisor. Prior to this position, Linda was District Guidance Coordinator for Broward County Schools, FL. In her role as NACAC/Broward Schools National College Fair Chairperson, in addition to coordinating the National College Fair, she also developed materials and workshops specifically for students with disabilities in grades 6-12 including a brochure for students and parents, “Post-Secondary Services for Students with Disabilities in College”. Linda was recognized by the Florida School Counselor Association and awarded Counselor of the Year by the State of Florida for her expertise and innovative programs. Currently, as the Executive Director of Silver & Associates Educational Consulting Solutions, Linda provides training and support in all areas of Section 504 compliance. Several recent trainings given include Section 504: From Referral to Placement, How to Cultivate Meaningful Parent-School Relationships at Section 504 Team Meetings, Section 504 and Nursing Services and Working with Chronically Ill Students at LRP’s National Institute. Linda holds licensure in Educational Leadership, Guidance and Counseling, Spanish Secondary Education and ESOL. Her wide range of expertise as a teacher, Guidance Director, ESOL trainer, District Guidance Coordinator and District Section 504/ADA Specialist gives Linda a broader perspective when working with school districts.
