Michael J. Fernandez has more than 20 years of experience in the waste industry, both private and public. He manages solid waste collection for more than 340,000 customers, disposal needs for more than 2.7 million county residents, and more than 1.8 million tons; put-or-pay agreements of more than 1.5 million tons per year, an operation of approximately 1000 employees, a fleet of more than 1000 pieces of equipment, and an operating budget of more than $236 million. In 2018, Waste360 named Mr. Fernandez as one of the Top 40 waste professionals in the United States. He holds a Bachelor’s degree, double majoring in business management and international business. Mr. Fernandez has a proven track record of increasing productivity, efficiency and setting policy in the workplace.
