Internet Security Alliance

Larry Clinton is President of the Internet Security Alliance. The ISA is a multi-sector trade association that focuses on thought leadership, policy advocacy and developing best practices for cybersecurity. The National Association of Corporate Directors named Mr. Clinton as one of the 100 most influential people in the field of corporate governance in 2015 and 2016, the only cybersecurity professional to be included in these lists. He is on the board of the IT Sector Coordinating Council and serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board for the Center for Audit Quality. He holds a certification from Carnegie-Mellon’s CERT in cybersecurity oversight. He is widely published and has been a featured spokesman on cyber issues in virtually all major media outlets including the Wall Street Journal , USA Today Fox News, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, PBS, Morning Edition, CNN and even MTV in India. He testifies often before Congress and has briefed industry and governments world-wide, including NATO and the OAS. ISA was also the only trade association to be part of the cybersecurity briefing for the Republican National convention in Cleveland in 2016. ISA recently published the Cybersecurity Social Contract: Implementing a Market-Based Model of Cybersecurity, a 400-page book that outlines 106 recommendations for administration and Congress. Pevious editions of the ISA Social Contract were endorsed by the House Republican Cybersecurity Task Force and were the basis for President Obama’s Executive Order 13636 on Cyber Security. He is the principle author of the NACD Cyber-Risk Oversight Handbook for corporate boards, which PricewaterhouseCoopers found has substantially improved corporate director’s management of cyber risk since its publication in 2014. The 2017 edition of the NACD Handbook was released in January.
