Mark Dym opened Racca's PIzza Napoletana (originally called Marco's Coal-Fired) in Denver in 2008 after relocating from South Florida. A pizza lover who grew up by the slice in Brooklyn, he gained Vera Pizza Napoletana Certification and added his fourth location in 2016 serving award-winning Neapolitan-style pizzas. Before its name change to Racca's in December, Marco's Coal-Fired was named Pizza Today's 2015 Independent Pizzeria of the Year.
