Dr. Peter Alterman is Chief Operating Officer of SAFE-BioPharma Association. During his federal service, he served as the Senior Advisor to the NIH CIO for Strategic Initiatives, Assistant CIO for e-Authentication at the National Institutes of Health, and Chair of the U.S. Federal PKI Policy Authority. Dr. Alterman serves on several industry identity and access management committees and workgroups. He has received numerous government and private sector awards for pioneering work in global federated identity management and is currently involved in harmonizing US and EU trust frameworks. He received his M.A. from Adelphi University and his Ph.D. from the University of Denver.
