As Global Head of Fintech Acceleration, Laura is responsible for the design and deployment of High Impact Innovation initiatives to accelerate Citi's transformation into a Digital Business, by leveraging the power Open Innovation and the community of Tech Innovators and Allies. Her role includes growing and managing the strategic Ally ecosystem to support FinTech and Open Innovation strategies; designing tech innovation platforms to engage with the FinTech and developer community and developing new digital banking models. Some of the Open Innovation initiatives include: Citi Tech for Integrity Challenge, Citi Mobile Challenge, Data Scientists Challenge and Smarter Worklife Challenge. Before joining Citi, Laura was a founding partner and CEO of Broker Dealer and Fund Manager – Vision de Valores S.A.; founder and Executive Director of the Colombian Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director and Board Member of Bolsa y Banca – Colombian broker dealer among other roles. She has also served as a board member in non-profit and profit institutions in institutions such as One Laptop Per Child, Young Presidents’ Organization – YPO and Asobolsa – the Asociation of broker dealers in Colombia. During her career she has worked in the US, Latin America, Europe and China. Laura holds a Masters from MIT in Innovation (as a Sloan Fellow), She is a MIT Legatum Fellow and has Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from American University in Washington DC.
