Steve serves as Director of the Division of Resilience within the HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. His Division works to sustain essential functions of the Nation's healthcare and public health system by collaborating with government and private sector partners to prepare for and overcome disruptions together. Steve has focused his most recent work on preparing for the healthcare infrastructure impacts of cyber attacks. He led the Department's establishment and support of the Health Care Industry Cybersecurity Task Force, which delivered its report to Congress in June. He also served as Task Force Lead for the HHS response to the 2017 WannaCry Ransomware attack.
