Gregory Fiumara has been a Computer Scientist with the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Image Group since 2008. He handles the day-to-day operations of NIST’s MINEX, a family of interoperable fingerprint template tests used by the U.S. Government to establish Personal Identity Verification (PIV) compliance. He also leads NIST’s collaboration in IARPA’s Nail-to-Nail Fingerprint Capture Challenge, a project to spur development of autonomous rolled fingerprint capture devices. He is an active software developer and systems administrator in the group, contributing new functionality toBiometric Evaluation framework, the public domain software package powering current NIST biometric technology evaluations.
