Chief Michael Conners is in his 4th term on the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Council. Chief Conners had a career in gaming prior to Council, serving his community as the St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming Commission's Internal Auditor, the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino's Finance Manager, then the Mohawk Bingo Palace's Finance Director prior to entering Tribal politics. He has since served 2 terms on Tribal Council as Sub-Chief, and is now in his 2nd term as Chief. During this time, Chief Conners has also served on the National Indian Gaming Association's Board of Director's as an Alternate Delegate for the Eastern Region. Chief Conners has also been a major advocate for the Akwesasne Boy's & Girl's Club in their quest for a new building, leading the effort for a $1 million donation from the Tribe to the Club. Chief Conners also served a 5 year term on the Salmon River Central School Board.
