Sheila Ruhland is a proven leader with demonstrated vision, skills and integrity. Her career in education has expanded over three decades and has included senior level administrative roles at the community and technical college level. In her roles, Sheila has provided leadership in developing strategic plans; using evidence based decision-making to continuously measure effectiveness and plan strategically; invested in talent by developing a culture of opportunity to include mentoring, succession planning and leadership development at all levels; relationship building built on trust, respect and collaboration; and building and leveraging networks and partnerships. She has been described as a resilient, energetic, well-balanced, personable and authentic leader accountable for solid achievements. Dr. Ruhland holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Continuing and Vocational Education with a minor in Educational Administration, and a Master of Science degree in Continuing and Vocational Education, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Distributive Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wisconsin; and an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business Administration, Marketing-Fashion Merchandising from Madison Area Technical College in Madison, Wisconsin. As an active Rotarian, she has been awarded the Paul Harris Fellow and has been recognized for excellence in teaching and outstanding student academic advising. She currently serves on the Advance Career and Technical Education (CTE) National Board of Directors serving as an advocate for career and technical education. She enjoys antiquing, reading, and spending time on a beach.
