Scott France
President and Co-Owner
Macrina Bakery & Café

Scott France grew up all over the world, spending his early years in the Philippines, North Carolina and Indonesia before settling with his family in California for high school. Upon finishing college at Claremont McKenna and paying off his school loans, Scott took a leave of absence from Coopers & Lybrand to drive through Central and South America. It was during this trip that Scott met his wife Renee, who is from Vancouver, BC. He moved to Seattle in 1998 to be closer to her. Scott began his career in the food business at fourteen years old flipping burgers and helping customers at The Beach Hut located at Lifeguard Station 19 in Huntington Beach. Upon his arrival in Seattle he returned to the industry by joining the local institution Pagliacci Pizza as Controller. Working in his current position as CFO of Pagliacci, Scott became involved in Macrina Bakery in 2007. As President and part owner of Macrina, Scott is committed to building a company that supplies the very best fresh artisan breads and pastries to restaurants, cafés, groceries and many other customers in the Puget Sound region. Macrina also has cafes in the Seattle area and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2018 by opening its 5th location. The challenge of leading a company with 300 employees is not one Scott takes lightly. He works hard to ensure Macrina will flourish for another 25 years. Macrina’s mission is to enrich its communities through the joy of artisan baking and this is accomplished through shared values of integrity, diversity, hard work, remaining positive and continuous improvement. These values continue a legacy started by Macrina’s founder, Leslie Mackie, and bring recognition to the bakery as one of the finest in the country.
