Melissa Autilio Fleischut oversees the largest hospitality association in New York state, serves as the primary spokesperson for the industry and represents the Association in matters with the National Restaurant Association and the Council of State Restaurant Associations. Fleischut has worked with the Association for over 15 years and has been integrally involved in all of the Association’s major State and City legislative and regulatory initiatives, wage board efforts, and as a key liaison with various industry affiliates. In addition, Fleischut has headed up the Association’s successful re-branding and marketing effort initiated by the Membership Committee in 2010. Her career at the Association began in 1998 as the first Northeast Regional Representative where her responsibilities included membership sales and retention with five local chapters, government affairs and leading the Association’s marketing and communications. In 2001 she was appointed Director of Government Affairs where she oversaw the Political Action Committee (PAC). Two years later she began working with the board of directors as the Corporate Secretary. Prior to her career at the NYS Restaurant Association, Melissa worked with the National Restaurant Association (NRA) for four years.
