I graduated from China University of Petroleum in 2004 and received PhD. Since 2004, I have worked for CNOOC more than 10 years. As a senior drilling engineer, my daily routine is about design on Oil field Development Plan and research on deepwater drilling technology. In 2012, CNOOC spudded the first deepwater well in South China Sea by HYSY981, as a participator, I leaded a team to be responsible for the design of deepwater drilling riser, there are some special challenges including typhoon and soliton, which threaten the safety of drilling system. Today my team member and I will share with you about our experiences in design and operation of deepwater drilling riser.
