Mr. Shiyu Chen is a Sr. Engineer and P.E. in the Corporate Engineering Dept. of Ensco plc (a major offshore drilling company in the world). He is reponsible for the riser analysis for all the semi-submersible drilling platforms (moored and DP units) and drillships of Ensco. He is also doing some work for the subsea equipment and risers. He has more than 25 years experience in offshore drilling, drilling equipment and land rig, offshore structure design and analysis, mechanical engineering, FEA/stress analysis. He has 14 U.S. patents and many papers published in conferences and ASME journals. He has a master degree in mechanical engineering and a B.Sc degree in Naval Architecture from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
