Leong has over 20 year experience in oil and gas industry. He started his career in Shell where he worked in various engineering capacities from onshore to offshore; and design engineering to project engineering. Leong was directly involved in various deepwater projects in Shell including Nakika Semi, where he was mooring and installation engineer. Following Nakika, Leong went on to become the Marine-Mechanical-Outfitting Engineer and later the Deputy Construction Coordinator for the Sakhalin II Phase II concrete gravity based structures. In 2005, Leong joined Chevron and worked on several early phase Nigeria deepwater projects including the Usan development. He also worked as Mooring Engineer on the Tahiti project and became PIC during the offshore installation. Leong has recently completed the Jack and St Malo Project as Hull Project Engineer and Mooring Lead. Leong is currently the Team Lead for the Fixed and Floating Structural team at Chevron Energy Technology Company – CSME unit.
