POWERGEN International 2019

Session 5B: Resiliency and Efficiency in On-site Generation (Room 235/236)

This session is focused on two aspects of on-site power.  Resiliency is becoming more important as we move to higher penetration of renewable energy and our grid becomes less stable.  On-site generation can provide resiliency and security in the event of a hurricane, earthquake, grid failure, cyber-attack and many other potential threats to our electric grid.  The ability to “Island Mode” or provide “Black Start” capability is increasing in importance.  On-site generation can be of additional value and increase efficiency through combined heat and power (CHP).  This session will highlight real cases demonstrating the value of resiliency and efficiency in on-site generation.
