With the onset of the millennium and the increase of complexity of vehicle sales, fixed ops has become the lifeblood of a dealership. This workshop focuses on the factors that affect this profitability and how a dealership can move a fixed department from lackluster results to a powerhouse using human resources and technology. This presentation will dissect all variables that can affect effectiveness one by one and show which are the crucial ones and how to manage them with proper reporting and effective use of employees. Learn first-hand how a dealer facing major obstacles transformed a badly run service department with few employees into a profit center growing each and every month.

Primary Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to measure “effectiveness” of your service department, not just in fixed absorption but efficiency as well. Then, learn how to dissect to identify variables that affect these. You will learn that in order to rise above where you are, you must first know exactly where you stand.
  • At this point, you will learn how to decide where to go from where you are. Learn what variables must change and the “cost” associated. This cost is not to be considered as dollar amounts only but expenditure of time and human resources.
  • Learn the proper execution of a plan, including how to prioritize the required steps and make an “execution list.” This execution list must be realistic, executable, and detailed with timelines and assignment to employees involved. This list will enable the dealership to assure all parties are working toward one plan and deliver.
