Repowering has caught the attention of many in the wind industry as a way to provide a capital improvements to an aging project such that multiple gains can potentially be achieved: (1) increased power capture due to larger rotors, (2) longer life due to a combination of newer equipment and lower loads, and (3) qualifying for new tax credits. However, not all projects are good candidates. Come hear our panel of very experienced technical experts talk about the advantages and challenges of repowering, with a structural and non-structural component focus—foundations, blades, and mechanical components will be covered.
