Increased and continued value production is an aim shared by many owners and operators of mid life and older wind turbines. Modernization and or replacement of the turbine control systems can extend the life of turbines thereby increasing the value to the owner. Control system replacements for mid life turbines which can provide greater data and ability for more intelligent control for increase longevity and resulting value are being implemented today. Examples will be provided. Control system components or entire systems are being implemented on older turbines which enable them to continue operation entirely and or operate with lesser unplanned operating costs. Operational example will be provided. Life extension value increases are being obtained by the life cycle economic power regulation of mid life turbines. Quantitative economic optimization of life extension value will be provided along with example of actual implementation.
