Pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors currently face lawsuits alleging a role in the nation’s opioid epidemic. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of workers’ comp claimants have received high-dose opioids for years. The presenters will detail how employers and claims payers can reduce injured-worker opioid usage, prevent addiction and reduce their exposure to liability like that faced by pharmaceutical companies. They’ll discuss the policies and practices called for as well as those that may increase liability exposure.
