**Evaluate this session**

This session will teach you how to interact on emergency scenes with patients who have special needs and teach you about developmental, intellectual and physical disabilities. You’ll learn how to speak to someone with special needs or their caretaker, how to do a proper special needs patient assessment, and how to deescalate a person who may be on the verge of an emotional meltdown. Skyler will also discuss the things responders need to look for that may be abuse vs things that may be a part of everyday life for a person tasked with raising and caring for an individual with special needs.
