12 Sep 17
2:35 PM - 3:35 PM

Tracks: Federal Identity Forum, Track B - Special Sessions

The focus for this panel will be a discussion on how to combat the difficult national and international battle against child exploitation.  Identifying victims of abuse and their perpetrators is a challenge for law enforcement. Panelists will lay out the problems they face daily in finding the data on line, viewing abuse video and still imagery, isolating objects, faces and other items in the imagery which will give clues to help identify where and when the abuse took place and identifying the victims and perpetrators.  Topics will include raising awareness of the magnitude of the child exploitation problem, the need to foster innovation, creating a victim centric approach, leveraging data more efficiently, sharing data among the national and international law enforcement community and applying science and technology to combat child exploitation.  Panelists will include Immigration and Customs Homeland Security Investigations, National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (Founded by John and Reve Walsh), National Institute of Standards and Technology and International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
