Many firefighters and law enforcement members have attended ‘The Irons Academy’ and are looking to take their knowledge and skills to the next level. This Advanced Irons Academy will allow students to do this. This advanced program reinforces a focus on using the most reliable tools, the Irons, for accessing buildings but places you in even more realistic environments. This is done by strengthening your understanding of the irons while forcing you to overcome conditional and environmental obstacles commonly encountered on the fireground. This 8 hour course is focused to strengthen and build on the participant’s foundational forcible entry skill sets developed in The Irons Academy. This course is reality based training and not theory based teaching with a focus on increasing efficiency through proficiency. Be prepared to be physically, mentally, and physiologically challenged in this program. Requirements: Full firefighting PPE, SCBA and mask. Hearing protection is recommended. Students are recommended to bring any forcible entry tools they want to use. This course can be physically demanding at times so students should be in good physical condition. This course will be held at the Virginia Beach Training Center. It is highly recommended that attendees have attended Real Fire Training’s ‘The Irons Academy.’ There is a 25 student limit for this class.
