We don’t arrive as a leader; it’s a journey to discover your growth and greatness as a leader. Becoming a front line officer is a monumental point in a firefighter’s career. Being able to succeed and make an impact can be stifled without the right tools or understanding of how engagement, vision and basic principles fit into the big picture. The journey to become a great leader does not always have to start on your shift or in your station. It can start in one’s district, home or even community. Reaching your level of greatness comes from many experiences but more importantly, it comes from the people in your life. This course is designed by a front line officer for front line officers or future officers to self-evaluate and learn about the journey of becoming a leader. The program will discuss the different ways to learn and think outside of the box; create opportunities for advancement; and to develop into the leader you want and desire to be.
