On March 22, 2017, the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in the Endrew F. case and, for the first time since 1982, addressed the standard for the provision of FAPE to students with disabilities. In this session, attorney Julie Weatherly will share strategies for ensuring that IEPs are developed and implemented consistent with the Endrew F. FAPE standard. She will explain how the Supreme Court clarified the FAPE standard and review how this standard has been applied in recent court decisions. You'll leave this session with a renewed understanding of what it means to "reasonably calculate" what "appropriate progress" looks like for each student with a disability.
