Begin Wednesday’s heavy-duty track with a discussion among leading truck and engine manufacturers about their long-term vision for commercial vehicles. Hear how advanced clean diesel technology, and an array of other advanced technology and fuel options, will continue to play an important role in the market given the continued focus on cost-effective investments, increased vehicle efficiency and improved environmental performance. This session will not only provide insight into the complexity of multiple customer and regulatory priorities facing OEMs, but will also explore opportunities for cost reductions throughout the sector via the harmonization of state, national, and European regulations for emission control and truck automation technologies. In addition to an update and overview on the existing patchwork of regulation governing autonomous truck technologies, key emission regulations to be covered include: US EPA 2010 emissions; EPA/DOT NHTSA’s Phase 1 and 2 Greenhouse Gas and Fuel Efficiency Standards; Euro VI; and federal and state level efforts to develop an Ultra-Low NOx Heavy-Duty Emission Standard. For any fleet interested in long-term strategic planning, you will not want to miss the Fleet Owner-moderated session.
