In the age of “Information Anywhere, Everywhere” the insatiable need for Gigabits of wireless data to user devices has challenged the spectrum needed to support this demand and fueled a race to efficient 5G communications technologies to deliver this bandwidth to a myriad of devices ranging from smartphones, wearable devices and smart household appliances. Disruptive technologies including massive MIMO, spectrum arbitrage, millimeter wave communications and dynamic spectrum management are being developed by the commercial enterprise. The challenge for the Military is to adapt to this increasing spectrum demand and judicious leveraging of 5G technologies with emphasis on assured secure communications to meet mission needs.
