David Rosenblatt, DVM, director of training for Sher Consulting and Training, describes the 2015 ISO 9001 quality standard and how it requires, for the first time, a documented risk and opportunity assessment, which many organizations are confused by and are having difficulty implementing. He presents a novel, proven approach demonstrating integration of HACCP into the new ISO requirements using a simple step-by-step method. This can result in an effective, integrated management system that simultaneously fulfills the requirements of HACCP (or FSSC 22000), the Food Safety Modernization Act and ISO 9001:2015.
